Seriously. ALLLL THE GOODNESS.
The De Portola Wine Trail is pretty dang awesome if I do say so myself. 9 quaint wineries all within 3 beautiful miles. I’d ask if it get any better… but it doesn’t. Trust me.
> I suggest starting at the far end of the trail with Masia de la Vinya for some White Milenio and Magrana. I’m a sweet wine kind of gal so these two are my favorite. I mean, pomegranate bubbly? Yes. Just yes. This winery is smaller and so relaxing. It’s always quiet and peaceful AND they have live music.
> Head next door for the yummiest BBQ chicken pizza and cheese + charcuterie board. Cougar Vinyards is fully equipped with their own little deli! AND every Tuesday- Thursday from 3pm-5pm you get a FREE pizza when you purchase one bottle of red wine, or two bottles of white wine! Just saying.
> Beautiful views and the sweetest employees. At Frangipani these things are guaranteed! They walked us through their property while we drank some bubbly and enjoyed the gorgeous views. It truly was a treat.
> Danza, Danza, Danza. Where do I begin?! This place is my home away from home. Their property is amazing, Their merchandise is amazing. Their events are amazing. Their people are amazing, Their wine is AMAZING. Seeing a trend here? Everything is amazing. Again, I’m a sweet gal so the Orange Muscat or Rose are my vinos of choice but you can’t go wrong with any of the wine. Trust me… I’ve tried them all and I love them all.
> Leoness was next on the trail. They just underwent a bunch of renovations making this stop even better than it’s ever been! The new restaurant is gorgeous and their wine is delicious. There were also plenty of spots for photos which made my job really easy. I suggest their White Merlot.
> Ever wine tasted in a cave before? Yeah, you read that right. A cave. Oak Mountain built their tasting room into the side of a mountain off of De Portola. The cave is a unique experience you won’t get anywhere else! They also are up in the mountain more so the views are absolutely stunning!
> Beautiful views (basically a standard in Temecula Wine Country), personal tastings, and great conversation. These are just a few things you’ll get at Gershon Bachus Vintners or GBV if you’re like me and can’t remember fancy names for the life of you. They have a gorgeous property and know just about everything there is to know about wine!
> Drinking through all 9 of these wineries might leave you stumbling a tad. I suggest contacting Robert Renzoni ahead of time and booking their Buffalo Room for a private tasting where their wine consultants will teach you all about their wine and the family that makes them. There may or may not be a killer charcuterie board and a cool surprise included in that too 😉
> Last but not least we have Fazeli Cellars. Fazeli is the one and only persian winery in Southern California! It’s built beautifully with views at every angle and has an ambiance that just makes you feel amazing. They also have delicious cuisine that you could finish off your trip down the trail with!
These are just a few things I love about the De Portola Wine Trail. Visit for yourself to taste some of the most delicious wines in Temecula Valley!
